Former West Indies batting star Brian Lara heads the cast of speakers for this year’s Atlantic Secondary Schools leadership symposium, which will take place from Monday to Wednesday at Petrea Hall, Centre of Excellence.

Tributes continue to pour in following the death of former Prime Minister Patrick Manning yesterday. Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Daryl Smith, Ephraim Serrette, president of the National Association of Athletic Administration (NAAAs) and World batting champion Brian Lara extended condolences to his family.

Hours after the passing of former Prime Minister Patrick Manning at the San Fernando General Hospital yesterday morning from acute myeloid leukemia, Brian Lewis, the T&T Olympic Committee president admitted that his Vision 20/20 should have been maintained.

Patrick Manning served as prime minister of T&T for four terms and as the MP for San Fernando East for 44 years before he was forced to bow out of active politics in 2015, three years after he suffered a stroke.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says he has “many, many positive memories” in his life with Patrick Manning. He said their bust-up which eventually led to his dismissal from Manning’s Cabinet was “small” but “maybe an integral part.”
